Lux Vide, a Fremantle company, today announces the start of production on a major new series inspired by the life and extraordinary career of Giorgio Armani<\/mark><\/strong> \u2013 a global icon of Italian excellence and the visionary who transformed fashion and redefined \u2018Made in Italy\u2019 modern elegance.

The project will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ferzan Ozpetek<\/mark><\/strong> (Diamonds, Hamam, The Ignorant Fairies), whose distinctive artistic sensibility and internationally celebrated storytelling make him uniquely suited to bring Armani’s remarkable journey to the screen.

The series will explore the life and ambitions of Giorgio Armani, tracing the path of a man whose vision revolutionised the fashion industry and left an indelible mark on global culture.

At its heart, the story is one of creativity, determination and passion: an intimate portrait of the entrepreneur, innovator and visionary who built one of the world’s most admired luxury brands and created a timeless aesthetic recognised across generations and continents.

Fashion House Giorgio Armani has agreed to support the production, providing access to the House’s archives, creations and iconic locations, offering an unparalleled insight into the world and legacy of one of fashion’s most influential figures.

\u201cFor years, Lux had been chasing the dream of telling the world the story of Giorgio Armani, an artist who invented a unique and recognizeable style,<\/em>\u201d Lux Vide president Matilde Bernabei <\/mark><\/strong>said in a statement. She went on to describe Armani as \u201ca standard-bearer of Made in Italy who rewrote the rules of style and elegance.<\/em>\u201d
\u201cIt will be an ambitious series,<\/em>\u201d Bernabei added, \u201cand we are proud to know that the market has immediately embraced this project with interest, enthusiastically confirming its international potential<\/em>.\u201d

\u201cI knew, admired and spent time with Giorgio for many years, both on official occasions and in more private settings,<\/em>\u201d Ozpetek said<\/mark><\/strong> in a statement to Variety. \u201cWe talked about cinema, of which he was notably passionate and an expert. But also about art, costumes, architecture, and, I would say, life itself. I could see within him a visionary and a brilliant artist. But also a down-to-earth and very determined man.<\/em>\u201d
The director added: \u201cThe opportunity to tell his story is both an exciting honor and a challenge that involves capturing the many facets of such a complex, original and captivating personality<\/em>.\u201d

The series will be produced by Lux Vide, a Fremantle company, in association with Faros Film. The subject and screenplay are by Ferzan Ozpetek and Francesco Arlanch.
