Synopsis
Lux Vide’s remake of the most famous love story of all times offers a new fascinating symbolic approach to the two young lovers’ tragedy.
Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet do not live in Verona but in the mountains of Northern Italy in a not defined period of the Middle Ages: the setup and the age we chose are much harsher than the ones imagined by William Shakespeare.
A colder climate and a time of darkness make their contrasted love story even more dramatic. The whiteness of the snow is a violent contrast with Mercutio‘s and Tybalt‘s red blood.
The feelings of hate and love take on the contours of an eternal drama carved in rock.
