Synopsis
One Step from Heaven returns in its seventh season not with the virile eyes of the old protagonists that take in the splendid peaks of the Dolomites, but with the contemporary and feminine gaze of Manuela, played by Giusy Buscemi. Through the policewoman’s eyes we discover a fresh perspective. In fact, it’s in the relationship between male and female that this season is played out.
We see it first of all in the detective duo who head up the season: Manuela herself, the empathetic but tough and ready policewoman, capable of seeing what is not immediately evident to others, and her brother Vincenzo (Enrico Ianniello), the old inspector – shrewd and expert, although more cynical. But we also see it in Manuela’s relationship with two of the season’s new male protagonists, the wild Nathan Sartor (Marco Rossetti) and the charming artist Gregorio Masiero (Leonardo Pazzagli). It is in relation to them that our main protagonist’s mission finds its purpose.
Manuela has returned to San Vito for mysterious reasons, and it seems to be only coincidence that leads her to take an interest in the fate of Gregorio, a local wood sculptor whose wife Roberta died in a car accident. We are going to have a horizontal detective story in which the two brothers try to frame Paron, a big cattle farmer who is much loved in the valley, but who may pose the greatest threat to it. The horizontal case will be joined by eight vertical cases. The environment remains one of the central themes of the series, just as the theme of family.
One Step from Heaven is back, richer than ever, with all the elements that made it such a success, old characters we have already learned to love and new protagonists who bring us their experiences and new adventures. The splendid scenery of the Dolomites, the most beautiful mountains in the world, are also back. And Manuela returns, and she will teach us to look up at… the other half of the sky.
