Synopsis
Mafia’s protégé Gennaro and his family are forced to run away from Palermo, their Sicilian hometown, to neighboring Tropea, in Calabria, because his boss has ordered him to kill a man.
Gennaro’s wife is ill with a rare disease and he falls back into criminal life to collect the money to treat her. But he is never been a killer. With his wife Lucia‘s help, they reach Calabria where a friend has offered protection.
His 17-year-old son, Mattia does not want to go, but when Gennaro tells him the truth, he agrees to begin a new life.
Unfortunately, in Tropea things go from worse to worst: Mattia falls in love with Sara, the beautiful daughter of a local boss who will never approve of their relationship.
This soon becomes a Romeo and Juliet story in Southern Italy, a wonderful country constantly oppressed by the Mafia and their violent rule…
