Synopsis
Solomon is entrusted with the solemn task of building the Temple of Jerusalem, the place in which the ancient Ark of the Covenant will be conserved.
Solomon’s reign is distinguished by his great wisdom, a characteristic which the Bible considers a divine gift, but which nevertheless contributes to great unhappiness of the King of Israel’s old age.
The drama of the story develops as Solomon’s character interacts with the other historical characters in the miniseries. Abisag, a beautiful young girl who joins the court to brighten King David‘s latter years; and the Queen of Sheba, who originally only comes to meet the wise king, but falls in love with Solomon and bears him a son.
