Lux Vide, a Fremantle Company, is a leading European television production company with a strong international vision. We are unmatched in Italy, having over 1,300 hours of prime-time fiction to our name.
Founded in Rome in 1992, Lux Vide rapidly made a name for itself on the Italian market with distinctive and extremely-successful high-quality productions, working with all the major players in the cultural industry, including RAI, Mediaset and Sky. Television series are the mainstay of our business, founded on strong storytelling, solid characters and a strong bond with the public.
Since its foundation, Lux Vide has shown an international vision in its choice of partners and stories. The company gained immediate worldwide recognition for its 21-episode series The Bible Collection, produced for RAI 1 from 1994 to 2002 and sold in 144 countries worldwide. In 2007, the production of War and Peace, based on the novel by Tolstoy, involved seven countries and a financial investment without precedents in European television.
In 1994, Lux Vide became the first Italian company to win an Emmy Award with the film Joseph from The Bible collection. In 2009, the co-production Coco Chanel received a Golden Globe nomination and two Emmy nominations (best series and best actress for Shirley MacLaine).
