The international event series Sandokan has won the Audiovisual Award at the 18th edition of the Biagio Agnes Award, one of the most prestigious recognitions dedicated to the world of communication and audiovisual production in Italy.
An achievement that fills us with pride and confirms the strength of an ambitious project: a contemporary and international reinterpretation of a great classic born from the vision of Emilio Salgari, still capable today of moving and engaging audiences around the world.
Directed by Jan Maria Michelini and Nicola Abbatangelo, the series was shaped with passion and sensitivity through a collaborative effort grounded in a clear creative vision, high production value, and a strong narrative identity, alongside lead actor Can Yaman and an outstanding cast including Alanah Bloor, Alessandro Preziosi, Ed Westwick, and John Hannah.
We share this recognition with enthusiasm and gratitude with all the professionals who contributed to bringing this project to life—those who worked both in front of and behind the camera with expertise, dedication, and team spirit. It is the result of a collective commitment that continues to inspire us as we look toward future challenges.
The award ceremony will take place in Rome at Piazza di Spagna on June 25 and will be hosted, as per tradition, by Mara Venier and Alberto Matano.
