Two Awards, One Great Achievement.
At the latest edition of the Italian Global Series Festival, Sandokan was honoured with two prestigious awards.
🏆 Nastro d’Argento Internazionale 2026, presented by the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists (SNGCI) in recognition of the year’s Best International Co-Production. The award celebrates the Italian audiovisual industry’s ability to create productions that compete successfully on the global stage while preserving a strong cultural identity.
The award was presented to director Jan Maria Michelini and John Hannah, one of the series’ leading cast members. It follows the Special Nastro d’Argento previously awarded to Can Yaman in Naples during the Nastri d’Argento Grandi Serie ceremony, in recognition of his portrayal of the legendary pirate.
🏆 Maximo Audience Award, the special prize voted directly by audiences at the Italian Global Series Festival, celebrating the Italian audiovisual titles most loved by viewers. The award was accepted by Alessandro Sermoneta, the series’ writer, and Ivan Carlei, Deputy Director of Rai Fiction.
These two awards recognise the dedication, passion and talent of everyone involved in bringing one of adventure literature’s most iconic characters back to life.
After winning over audiences in Italy, Sandokan continues its international journey, confirming the success of a series that is receiving prestigious recognition and attracting strong interest from audiences around the world.
